Raila Odinga leads Azimio team to visit ailing Sabina Chege

by Enock Ndayala

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday, February 2, led a section of the Azimio la Umoja team to visit ailing Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege.

The former Prime minister was accompanied by a section of leaders from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the Jubilee Party.

The ailing lawmaker who is currently admitted at Nairobi Hospital, however, did not disclose her diagnosis.

Raila was accompanied by a host of MPs among them including Kanini Kega (Kieni), Junet Mohamed  (Suna East), Mishi Mboko (Likoni), and Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay county).

Other leaders included Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina.

The leaders expressed their kind messages to the Jubilee party MP wishing her a quick recovery as she took a break from the Azimio la Umoja campaign trail.

“Wishing my friend and sister Hon. Sabina Wanjiru wa Chege a quick recovery #NiSiSi #GetWellSoon,” Hma bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga said after sharing images of the visit.

According to Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo, Sabina Chege was admitted to the hospital on February 16, 2022.

the Revelations of Chege’s admission at a hospital were made after the vocal legislator failed to appear before the electoral Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Tuesday, February 22.

“The doctor addressed this letter at our request to confirm that the respondent is indisposed. She was admitted and is currently undergoing treatment,

“In those circumstances, the respondent was not able to be with us. We did not get that letter to be addressed any earlier because being indisposed is not predictable as to when she would be in a position to be discharged or to attend,” Otiende who is representing Sabina Chege said.
