Raila Odinga right-hand man speaks after claims he failed KCSE

by Amos Khaemba

The ODM leader Raila Odinga’s right-hand man Junet Mohamed has come out to dispute allegations that he failed his KCSE exams.

The Suna East MP termed the allegation by former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar that he scored D in KCSE as false.

The lawmaker took to Twitter on Tuesday, February 22 to defend his academic record even though he did not reveal his actual score.

“You know very well I went to Lenana and you left ahead of me… but two things never happened. Never suspended for homosexuality and I didn’t get a D,” Junet said.

On Tuesday, February 22 Hassan had issued a video statement n social media that had castigated Junet Mohamed claiming that he failed his KCSE exams.

“Tulikua na wewe Lenana Abdullswamad alifuzu akapata B-, mimi nikafuzu nikapata A-, wewe vipi ukapitie Lenana upate D buana. Unafikiria kuwa mshirika wa Baba nikupata akili?” (We were with you at Lenana school, Abdulswamad passed his exams and got a B- (Minus) and I too passed after scoring an A- (minus). How comes you got a D and you went through Lenana. You think being Raila’s supporter is being clever?”), Hassan had said.

The former Mombasa senator was commenting on a video circulating on social media that showed, Suna East MP harassing the Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant Nassir.

During the Tononoka rally, supporters of leading gubernatorial aspirants clashed even at one point temporarily stopping the rally.

ODM leader was forced to move in to calm the growing tension between the two aspirants.

The former prime minister called the two leaders to the podium and lifted both their hands saying they are all ODM members and should not let their competition break the party.

“We do not want to see these small fights between your supporters, ODM is one” Raila told the two.

Raila promised that the ODM primaries slated for April this year will be free and fair, calling on the two leaders to support whoever will win the party nomination
