Atwoli said he will rally the Mulembe community to unite ahead of the 2027 General Election.

ODM leader Raila Odinga has said he will attend Cotu boss Francis Atwoli’s big meeting in Kakamega.

Speaking on Sunday, December 26, when he visited COTU secretary-general Francis Atwoli at his Khwisero home in Kakamega County, the former Prime Minister assured that he will be there as one of the invitees.

“As you have all heard, Atwoli has organized something big on Friday, December 31, in Kakamega town and I want to assure him that I will be there as one of the invitees,” said Raila.

The 2022 presidential hopeful further said the Western region has massively supported his presidential attempts in most of the General Elections, something he said he won’t take for granted by giving the meeting a wide berth.

“The people of this region are hardworking. They have contributed immensely to the building of this nation. There are challenges but all that can be solved. So we are going to walk together,” Raila added.

The flamboyant unionists had earlier on said he will host a second Bukhungu stadium rally dubbed ‘Bukhungu II’ to declare the Luhya political spokesperson ahead of the 2022 elections.

“I have already said that on Friday, December 31, the Luhya community will converge at Bukhungu stadium,

“That is Bukhungu II to determine and to listen to Luhya leaders and plan a sense of direction as to whom -among the leaders who have declared their presidential candidature- people should listen to,” Atwoli said on Thursday, December 2.

However, a section of leaders allied to ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi including Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has vowed not to attend Atwoli’s big meeting citing that the unionist must first seek permission from the OKA co-principal.

“You all know that Kakamega is my political territory. I want to tell the organizers of the said meeting that they must seek Mudavadi’s permission or else their meeting will not happen,” Malala said.
