Raila Odinga’s new allies in race to State House

by Nderi Caren

New changes have been made to Raila Odinga’s campaign team in a bid to improve his political appeal nationally.

Through his Azimio la Umoja campaign, Raila Odinga has brought political allies from other regions closer to him than those from his Nyanza background.

According to ODM Chairman John Mbadi, Raila Odinga had to make changes to his inner circle in order to align himself to the unity that he is preaching in his campaign.

For a long time Raila Odinga’s team had been mainly composed of his close allies from the ODM party and the Nyanza region, but now, he has allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta on board.

“Raila has acquired new friends and those new friends should be given space to move around with him. If we  are  talking  of  Azimio  la  Umoja and you still see Mbadi and the rest around him, then where is that Azimio la Umoja,” John Mbadi told the Star.

The new members of Raila Odinga’s inner circle have been running the show in his recent campaigns at the Mt Kenya region.
