Raila Odinga’s new look inner circle drawn from President Uhuru team

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has made changes to his inner circle ahead of the crucial 2022 General Election.

In his fifth attempt at the Presidency, Raila has incorporated a number of people from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s team who are backing his presidential bid.

Starting Thursday, October 7, Raila will be hosting members of his new inner circle in a three-day retreat at the Great Rift Valley Lodge in Naivasha.

Raila Odinga’s newly crafted team includes members of Jubilee Party who are allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Kieleweke camp.

Raila is set to unveil an electoral secretariat that comprises of politicians, academicians, civil society actors, women, and youth representatives.

Ahead of crafting his new team, Raila Odinga has been going around various regions in Kenya, meeting with electorates and delegates under his Azimio la Umoja initiative.

However, the ODM leader has not yet officially declared his Presidential bid in the 2022 General Election. This, he said, he will declare at the end of the month.

“I have not decided if I will vie. Currently, I am consulting with Kenyans and when I conclude it, that is when I will make a decision,” Raila Odinga said.

In a bid to win, President Uhuru’s men to his team, Raila Odinga held a meeting with a section of Jubilee Party MPs from Mt Kenya at State House on September 3o.

Nyeri Town MP Ngujiri Wambugu later shared that they reached a decision to start popularising Raila Odinga in the Mt Kenya region.

“He committed to respecting our leaders and gave his history, including where he keeps falling out with our region, and how he intends to fix that. He also agreed that government projects started but not completed at end of President Uhuru’s term should be finalised,”  Nyeri Town MP Ngujiri Wambugu said.
