Raila pledges to appoint 4 youths in his cabinet if elected president

ODM leader Raila Odinga has promised to give four positions in his cabinet to the youth if elected President in 2022.

Speaking during a meeting with Youths from Mt Kenya region on October 12, Raila Odinga bowed to the demand that was made by the representatives.

To prove his capability, Odinga explained how he mentored youths when he was the Prime Minister in President Mwai Kibaki’s government.

“The roundtables were being held quarterly so that we can get feedback from the youth on what problems they are facing and what we are doing.

It is something I have tried before and will be part of my policy. On the issue of cabinet positions for the youth… I can say it will be more than four,” Odinga said.

He further stated that he had good plans for youths in the failed BBI bill.

“We wanted to create not just a department but Ministry for Youth Affairs and a national youth commission under that Ministry. That commission was going to ensure what is promised in policy documents is implemented,” said Raila Odinga.

In his latest campaign strategy, Raila Odinga has been wooing the Kenyan youths with sweet promises and speaking to them in sheng to attract their attention.

During a rally at Naivasha on Saturday, October 9, the ODM leader promised to give a stipend to unemployed youths if elected President in the 2022 General Election.

“We want every Kenyan to get a job but for those who are unemployed, there will be a social welfare state through which they will get KSh 6,000 monthly stipend,” he said.

While taking a swipe at President Uhuru and William Ruto, Odinga told the youths that his promises are not as empty as those of the Jubilee government.
