Just after the Supreme Court upheld William Ruto’s win, city lawyer Donald Kipkorir claimed that Raila Odinga was failed by the team he charged with protecting his votes at the Bomas of Kenya.

Kipkorir faulted Raila’s team led by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential agent for being incompetent; something he said could have cost Raila Odinga the presidency.

“Raila Odinga was let down and betrayed by the people closest to him and those who ran Azimio Secretariat. They lied to him they had everything under control. They lied all agents were in place and paid,” Kipkorir said.

In a statement on Thursday, November 17, Raila’s presidential agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory threatened to name the individual that bungled Raila’s win.

In a telling note, Kanchory, who is a lawyer by profession, suggested that there were betrayals and deceptions that ‘killed’ the hopes of their supporters and Kenyans at large.

“Why baba is not the fifth… All you need to know about the betrayal, deception, and intrigues that destroyed the hopes of a nation and broke the hearts of millions,” he said.

Kanchory stated that it is only the truth that will “set us free” adding that traitors will be exposed.

Earlier on Kanchory had admitted that indeed there were mistakes that cost them the presidency and that it was not time to point accusing fingers at those who failed but instead asked for those criticizing to come aboard and help solve the mess.

“There’s some painful truth to this but for now let’s be part of the solution. A time will come when the good, bad and ugly must be told, named, and shamed,” he said.

According to IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, Raila Odinga garnered 6.9 million votes in the August 9, elections emerging second after President William Ruto who polled 7.1 million votes.
