Raila Odinga warns William Ruto of political tsunami in 2022

ODM leader Raila Odinga has warned Deputy President William Ruto of a tough race in the 2022 presidential election

Speaking during the funeral of his cousin, Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo, Raila told his opponents to expect a Tsunami as he is part of those putting together a heavy political machinery.

“The machine we are building is a powerful one, some people are thumping their chest but are not aware of what is awaiting them ahead,

“There is a strong wind that is currently building up that will soon transform into a Tsunami,” Raila Odinga said without mention William Ruto is as much as we know the DP is Raila’s biggest political opponent now.

He also expressed courage that the stalled constitutional amendment through Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) will prevail through the Court of Appeal and proceed to a referendum.

It is understood Raila’s party is in the final stages of entering a pre-election coalition with the Jubilee Party. The two plan to front a common candidate in the 2022 presidential race.

Last week, Jubilee Party officials held a meeting, where they agreed to call a Parliamentary Group meeting to inform their MPs on the details of the planned coalition with ODM.

This merger comes amid DP William Ruto’s fallout with Jubilee Party with the former Agriculture minister vowing to be on the ballot in the 2022 presidential election whether Jubilee party gives him a ticket or not.

After reports on the ODM-Jubilee merger emerged, DP Ruto termed the coalition as a tribal one. He also regretted the move saying he and others worked had to put together a powerful Jubilee party only for some individuals to destroy it.

“They have broken Jubilee, the national party. Now they want to tell us to start parties based on our tribes. We want to tell them, hustler nation can not fit in a party of one tribe,

“We will have a national party where all Kenyans can fit. Now they want to unite Jubilee and ODM, they think that when they unite Jubilee and ODM, we hustlers will lack a party to propel us,

“We want to tell them that we are keen. We have a party for hustlers, it is called UDA,” said Ruto.
