Raila wonders why President Ruto fears opening IEBC servers

Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Committee (IEBC) Chairperson Wafula Chebukati was on Thursday, September 28, expected to appear before the National Dialogue Committee.

Presidential candidate in the 2022 elections Raila Odinga has vowed to continue with his weekly protests until President William Ruto expedites the opening of IEBC servers.

Raila who wants IEBC servers opened maintained that he won the 2022 presidential elections and that he was rigged out.

In a statement on Friday, March 31, the former Prime Minister wondered why the Head of State does not want to open the 2022 election servers if he fairly won the elections.

“My people, they stole the election, the whistleblower clearly shows it. Otherwise, they’d open the server; what’s the fear?” Raila asked.

Raila protested the 2022 presidential results announced by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati as the Supreme Court further insisted that the seven judges of the Apex court were corrupt to dismiss his petition.

“They then corrupted the Supreme Court as they did with the IEBC,” he added.

Former Mukurweini Member Of Parliament Kabando WA Kabando further endorsed Raila’s push demanding the opening of IEBC servers to end the ongoing countrywide demonstrations.

Kabando urged Ruto to act stately by opening the servers stating that the President will fail in his role as Head of State if he does not do so.

The former Prime Minister said that they have all facts to prove that they won the August 2022 elections.

On Monday, August 15, the then IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati declared William Ruto the fifth president-elect.

Seven days later, the veteran politician filed a petition at the Supreme Court protesting the presidential results.

However, on Monday, September 5, the Supreme Court dismissed Raila’s presidential election petition terming it as ‘hot air’.
