Raila’s ally threatens President Uhuru while attacking Ruto ‘we’ll deal with you’

by Amos Khaemba

Azimio la Umoja movement rally in Migori on Monday, February 14 was marred by confusion after Suna East MP Junet Mohamed mistakenly threatened President Uhuru Kenyatta.

While addressing the gathering, Junet who is also the national assembly minority whip, in an apparent slip of the tongue, said he will deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta properly if the ODM leader wins the August election.

As the minority leader was making the statement the crowd had burst into laughter prompting him to realize his blunder and rectify it.

“We will deal with (*president) Uhuru, Ohh huyo ni wa zamani (that is our former enemy), we now want to deal properly with (Deputy President William) Ruto,” Junet said.

The sentiments were apparently meant for Deputy President William Ruto who is a fierce rival of ODM leader Raila Odinga.

It seems that with new political formations in the country politicians are finding themselves mistakenly mentioning other outfits.

Recently Ford Kenya party leader almost endorsed the Azimio la Umoja while addressing a Kenya Kwanza rally in Nakuru.

“Nimekuja hapa na wenzangu tunawaomba kitu kimoja, muunge mkono Azimio eeh group yetu ya Kenya Kwanza ambayo tunataka kuwaletea serikali inayojali maslahi ya mwananchi,” (I want to urge to support Azimio eeeh Kenya Kwanza which will form the next government) Wetang’ula said.

Also the former Kakamega Senator and gubernatorial aspirant Boni Khalwale found himself on the receiving end when he appeared to say that One Kenya Alliance is more popular than Kenya Kwanza which has William Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi and William Ruto.

Deputy President William Ruto was also left in shock recently after an aspirant for the Nambale Constituency  Benard Nandieki mistakenly told residents to vote for Azimio la Umoja during the August 9 election instead of saying Kenya Kwanza.

“I will be MP for Nambale constituency, and am requesting you on behave of Nambale residents to vote Azimio,” Nandieki said as the crowd booed him.
