The first-time governor pledged to work with the Kenya Kwanza regime to help President William Ruto to deliver on his agenda for the people of Kenya.

Arati, who was speaking in Kisii after joining President Ruto who is in the Nyanza region for a three-day state visit said there was no way a country can have two presidents at a time.

“Unajua wewe ulikuwa mrengo ule na sasa wewe ndio rais na lazima tutafanya kazi na wewe. We can only have one president at a time,” the governor said.

The ODM governor further urged the Head of State not to focus on the demonstrations staged by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga.

“Even if you scored using your hand, you’re in charge. Had you lost, you’ll also be doing demonstrations. As leaders, let us talk for the sake of Kenyans,” Arati said.

He however warned the president against appointing his predecessor James Ongwae and instead asked Ruto to consider younger and fresh blood for State appointments.

“I want to say that there are old people here such as Ongwae and Jimmy. We have young people here to do your job.

“We are ready to give these old people some money to take care of themselves but when it comes to working, just give it to the young people,” Arati stated.
