The Supreme Court on Monday, September 5, dismissed a presidential petition filed by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition captain Raila Odinga.

Raila had filed a 72–page petition challenging the election of William Ruto claiming that a 56-member team of hackers was employed to manipulate Forms 34A that captured results from polling stations.

However, the seven judges of the Supreme Court dismissed the presidential petition after they found that the petition lacked evidence and that it was based on the forgery of documents.

The Supreme Court on Monday, September 5, dismissed a presidential petition filed by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition captain Raila Odinga.

“The presidential election number E005 of 2022 as consolidated with presidential election petition numbers E001, 2,3,4, 7, and 8 of 2022 is hereby dismissed,” Martha Koome ruled.

Commenting on the verdict, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s daughter Winnie Odinga sensationally claimed that UDA presidential candidate William Ruto paid Supreme Court president Martha Koome to a tune of KSh 1.5 billion to dismiss her father’s presidential petition.

Raila’s daughter further alleged that the remaining six judges of the apex court received KSh 1 billion each to uphold William Ruto’s presidential victory.

“Judges were paid a billion a piece. Chief Justice KSh 1.5 billion,” Winnie Odinga said in a Tweet.

The 32-year0old further stated that Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati was promised KSh 1 billion to rig the August 9, presidential election in favor of William Ruto.

She however stated that Chebukati was paid KSh 300 million only and that he was yet to be paid the remaining KSh 700 million.

“(Wafula) Chebukati was shortchanged at KSh 300 million. He should demand his KSh 700 million,” she said.

Her attacks come at a time when the Judiciary has called for an end to assaults on the Supreme Court judges following the ruling on the presidential petition challenging President-Elect William Ruto’s win.

“The persons sponsoring and executing the attacks on social media to disparage the Court are advised to desist forthwith,” the Judiciary said.
