Raila’s potential running-mate indirectly attacks William Ruto ‘he’s too bitter’

ODM leader Raila Odinga’s possible running mate Peter Kenneth has taken an indirect swipe at Deputy President William Ruto for being too bitter to lead the country.

Speaking on Tuesday, December 21, while drumming up support for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner in Igembe, Meru County, PK said the deputy president is not suitable for the country’s top job as he would be a threat to the nation.

“Some presidential candidates are a threat to the nation. All they have is bitterness, and if they ascend to power, we will suffer, so we must be cautious,” Kenneth said in reference to William Ruto.

According to the former Gatanga Member of Parliament, the country would only be much safer in the hands of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga after the 2022 General Election.

While urging the huge voting bloc to scrutinize all presidential candidates, the 2013 presidential candidate further said the vote-rich Mt Kenya region stood to gain more under Raila’s presidency.

Kenneth also dismissed the notion that Mount Kenya was divided, saying the area would vote as a bloc.

The sentiments by Peter Kenneth come barely a week after the presidential hopeful was captured on camera lecturing men who heckled him at a rally in Laikipia.

“Plan your own meeting, stop this stupidity…I will not accept it. You have come to heckle us here? Listen to me, if you do not want orderliness…please don’t come to heckle in my meeting. Everyone should organize his own meeting… this is mine,” William Ruto roared amid commotion from the crowd.

This raised sharp criticism from his opponents who have since questioned his fitness to hold the presidential seat if he cannot control his temperament.

“Anger: Ruto booed in Laikipia. Then he tells Kikuyu youth opposed to him to “Stop being stupid”. He also called Kiraitu stupid. If your opponent is a man of choleric temper, irritate him and his true colours will show. The hyena is showing its spots. Or am I wrong?” political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi posed.
