Without mentioning names, Raila’s wife said those politicians inciting locals against the Odinga family were the ones who dined and wined with the family of the former Prime Minister in the run-up to the August 9, presidential elections.

“The same politicians would wake up and come to my home for breakfast, lunch, and supper and spend the whole day at my office,

“They are now insulting members of my family, forgetting they used to frequent my home, pretending to be close to the family,” Ida Odinga said on Sunday, December 11.

Ida further defended her husband from retirement stating that those writing Raila off politically were doing so for selfish gains.

She however said those tainting the name of the opposition leader to get state appointments will not succeed in their plans.

“Those making noise on Facebook with intentions of seeking state recognition are wasting their time,” she added.

Ida warned those celebrating her husband’s August 9, presidential loss adding that Raila should not be blamed for failing to succeed Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In the August 9, presidential elections, Raila Odinga garnered 6.9 million votes emerging second after William Ruto who polled 7.1 million according to IEBC.
