Ruto ally Rigathi Gachagua threatens to expose Kenyatta family land dealings

Rigathi Gachagua has sensationally claimed that President Uhuru is frustrated because the Mt Kenya region has defied his succession wish.

Mathira MP Rigathi Gachachua has threatened to expose the Kenyatta family for their illegal land dealings days after Interio CS made public some of the property owned by Deputy President William Ruto.

The MP said the CS had opened a chapter that Ruto’s allies are very much willing to speak about considering the dark history of illegal land ownership in the country.

During a meeting with grassroots leaders from Nakuru held at Ruto’s home, Gachagua listed some of the properties he suggests belong to the Kenyattas. He did not provide any evidence for the same though.

“He (Interior CS Fred Matiang’i) has opened the chapter. We will start talking about land issues in this country. Where did Mau Mau land go to? The Mau Mau land in Nakuru, who is the owner and how many GSU officers are there?

“The Mau Mau land in Kahawa, who owns it? and how many General Service Unit officers are there? We will start talking, it is a good topic,” Gachagua said in an apparent reference to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s vast land ownership.

Kiambu County Woman Representative Gathoni Wa Muchomba, also Ruto’s ally, echoed Gachagua’s statement at the same meeting, saying Kenyans are willing to talk about land ownership in the country and it is known which family has huge tracks of illegal land.

Rigathi Gachagua could be holding information on the Kenyatta family since he was once President Uhuru’s personal assistant.

In a past interview, Gachagua revealed that he was so close to President Uhuru that he even funded part of his presidential campaigns in 2017.

“In 2017 during the repeat Presidential elections, I told Deputy President William Ruto and President Uhuru to leave Nyeri for me, where I used my money. I used millions to get cars, I erected billboards and mobilised people to run the campaigns,” Gachagua revealed.

In a presentation to parliament on Thursday, September 2, Matiang’I named William Ruto’s property and homes, saying they are all guarded by police officers.

While responding to Matiang’I’s expose’ William Ruto said he owns only 70% of the listed property.

He faulted Matiang’I for leaving out some details such as the egg production at his chicken farm and the shares he has at East Africa’s biggest telecommunication company, Safaricom.
