‘Rotten Ruto’: Kitui governor goes ballistic while addressing Kenyans in UK

by Enock Ndayala
Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has blasted Deputy President William Ruto for continuously claiming that he made Uhuru the president.

Kitui governor Charity Ngilu seems to have taken his dislike for deputy president William Ruto to another level if his latest bear-knuckle attack is anything to go by.

Ngilu, who is among the top politicians that accompanied ODM leader Raila Odinga for a five-day tour in the United Kingdom on Friday, March 18, urged Kenyans living in London not to buy into William Ruto’s lies.

The governor said he knows Ruto very well and that he should from today henceforth be officially called ‘Rotten Ruto’ in an apparent reference to the fact the deputy president is considered too corrupt to occupy the presidency.

Kitui governor Charity Ngilu seems to have taken his rivalry with deputy president William Ruto to another level.

“Those people (Ruto and his entourage) who came here (London) a week ago, I can tell you we know him and you know if you don’t call this man (Ruto) by his name and say how bad he is, no one will understand who he is,

“I am therefore calling you out William Ruto, your name is Rotten Ruto,” Ngilu said.

The governor was addressing Kenyans living in the UK as part of a series of such events led by Raila Odinga who is campaigning against William Ruto to be the next president of Kenya.

Kivumbi.co.ke understands this is not the first time the governor has publicly attacked the deputy president.

In September 2021, Ngilu made a public prayer at a rally asking God to take the deputy president in his special way claiming that the former Agriculture Minister is not a good person and would likely e a problematic president for Kenya.

“Dear God please take (Deputy President William) Ruto from our midst. This is not a good person; he is a person who will bring trouble to our country. Dear God, please take Ruto in your own special ways,” she prayed.

In November the same year, the county chief revealed that she usually turns off her television set whenever Deputy President William Ruto is talking claiming that she does not stand with Ruto’s lies dressed as campaign promises.

“I am shocked when I see this guy (William Ruto). I always switch off. When he appears on Citizen TV, I wonder what is this…I switch off until he is done,” said governor Ngilu.
