Ruto allies respond to PS Kibicho’s suggestion to punish Uhuru’s opposers

Allies of Deputy President William Ruto have protested a call from Interior PS Karanja Kibicho to punish President Uhuru’s opposers.

Responding to a video of Kibicho calling on his boss Fred Matiang’i to punish the President’s opponents, Boni Khalwale argued that he is corrupted by power.

“Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely,” Boni Khalwale wrote in a tweet.

On his part, Soy MP Caleb Kositany told Karanja Kibicho that Kenyan citizens will punish them and not vice versa.

“Kibicho’s arrogance at it’s peak. The people will nyorosha you before you nyorosha them,” Caleb Kositany wrote.

On Monday, November 1, the Interior CS called on Fred Matiang’I to unleash physical punishment on President Uhuru’s opposers.

“Let us discipline them if we have to. Let them cry if they want to. For us, we shall be doing that work given unto us by the President. We shall be accountable to God and the Head of State if we let the people down,” Kibicho said.

On August 13, Karanja Kibicho declared that anyone who does not support President Uhuru is his enemy.

“I want to make it clear that anyone who is not helping President Uhuru Kenyatta deliver or does not like him is my enemy,” Kibicho said during the inspection of the Thiba Dam project in Kirinyaga county.

After being told to punish Uhuru Kenyatta’s opposers, Fred Matiang’I assured that he is not intimidated by the William Ruto allies who want him to resign from his position.

Matiang’i also dismissed claims by Ruto allies that he will interfere with the 2022 polls.

“Don’t be intimidated by threats. You are only answerable and accountable to the people of Kenya, and your job is to uphold the zero-tolerance policy on those who encourage political intolerance,” he said.
