Kapseret Member of Parliament has sensationally claimed President Uhuru Kenyatta of being the force behind Wajir governor’s impeachment.

In a post on his Facebook page, Oscar Sudi said that the Head of State was pushing the impeachment to create a balance after rendering Mike Sonko and Ferdinand Waititu Jobless last year.

“I have observed something about the impeachment of Wajir Governor, Uhuru Kenyatta is just trying to show a balance by supporting the impeachment of Gov. Mohamed Abdi,

“He spearheaded the impeachment of governor Sonko and governor Waititu just because the duo was supporting DP William Ruto. It is at this moment that he’s trying to show us that he’s indeed objective about the fight against corruption. Anyway, ni Sawa (it is okay),” he added.

Governor Mohammed Abdi’s fate was sealed on May 17, when a panel of 11 Senators recommended his impeachment. Majority of senators later voted to send him home.

This is after he was found guilty of violating County Government, Public Procurement and Asset Disposal and Public Finance Management acts.

“The committee finds that the allegation was proved and was therefore substantiated. The committee further found that the allegations meet the threshold for impeachment of the governor under Article 181 of the Constitution,” read the report from the Senators.

Wajir Members of County Assembly found Mohammed Abdi guilty of embezlling COVID-19 funds, leading to the derailment of the health care system.

“A total of Sh2.92 billion was allocated towards improvement of the current health care system…. despite these colossal amounts…. Under the keen eye of the governor, the health system fell into disrepute, disrepair and failed as a whole,” MCA Hussein Abdirahman Dahir testified.

In his defense, the county boss asked the Senators to be lenient with him since his offence was a minor one.
