Political analyst Daniel Orogo has said that President William Ruto is grooming Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi to be his running mate in the 2027 elections.

Deputy President William Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi are set to begin their joint campaigns in Nakuru County on Wednesday ahead of the August General Election.

Speaking at Bomas of Kenya on Sunday, January 23, 2022, during the ANC National Delegates Congress, DP Ruto revealed the plan to hold joint rallies with like-minded parties.

“We will work with Amani National Congress, Ford Kenya, and like-minded parties that want to walk this journey of bringing Kenyans together,” Ruto said.

The DP said the journey of uniting Kenya has begun with the ‘earthquake’ declaration by Mudavadi at Bomas of Kenya, now it moves to other corners of the country.

“Next stop will be in Nakuru on Wednesday, then Western on Friday, and then on Saturday we will be in Central,” Ruto added.

Deputy President William Ruto who has pledged to work with ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi in the run-up to the General Election revealed that the two will have to make sacrifices so that they can be able to drive the nation to the next level.

“We are going to raise the bar and standard of leadership so that deceit and conmanship don’t become part of the equation of leadership in Kenya. Kenya must belong to everyone and not a preserve of a few in power,” added Ruto.

The move by Mudavadi to invite DP Ruto and his allies to grace his big event marks the beginning of a coalition between the two.

In the past month, there has been speculation of Ruto and Mudavadi working together in the upcoming August 9 presidential elections.
