Ruto and team meet Nebraska governor on US tour to study modern agriculture

Deputy President William Ruto and his team held a meeting with Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and discussed matters to do with modern agriculture.

DP Ruto took to social media on Tuesday, March 1, to update about the meeting saying the Nebraska state is a potential market for Kenyan tea and coffee.

“The State of Nebraska is home to the USA’s most innovative agricultural and livestock sectors. This presents significant opportunities for knowledge, partnership, and technology transfer for Kenya,” the deputy president wrote on Facebook

“The state is also a potential market for Kenyan tea and coffee,” the second in command added.

Among those who attended the meeting besides DP Ruto, were ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Governor Josphat Nanok, MPs Susan Kihika, Alice Wahome, Economist David Ndii, and Rachel Ruto.

Deputy President William Ruto on February 27, jetted out of the country for a 10-day tour of the US, the United Kingdom (UK), and Qatar.

In a document seen by Kivumbi.co.ke, the second in command is accompanied by a strong delegation of 31 people mainly from his Kenya Kwanza team.

According to the document, the DP Ruto and his entourage will be visiting the USA from Sunday 27, February to Saturday 5, March 2022 and then proceed to the United Kingdom from Saturday 5 to Tuesday 8, March, they will then head to Qatar from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 March.

In a statement pertaining to the trip, DP Ruto’s International Relations Advisor Ababu Namwamba said the second in command will be honoring invites by senior government officials and top policy institutes.

Ababu added that the DP is expected to will share his thoughts on foreign policy, democracy, and governance, and expound his economic vision for Kenya and Africa. “Kenya remains a stable regional anchor State and a valued member of the global community, and the Deputy President’s trip seeks to further strengthen ties with the country’s traditional friends and partners,” Ababu Namwamba
