Ruto completes his Nairobi county line-up with choice of Sakaja’s running-mate

Kenya Kwanza has picked James Muchiri as the running mate of Nairobi County gubernatorial candidate Johnson Sakaja

Kenya Kwanza coalition has picked ABSA Bank Chief Operating Officer James Njoroge Muchiri as the running mate of Nairobi County gubernatorial candidate Johnson Sakaja in the August 9 polls.

Speaking on Tuesday April 26, Sakaja revealed that he settled on Muchiri because will bring in vast skills and knowledge from the cooperate world which makes him the perfect choice of a running mate.

“He is willingly coming to serve the people and that is what Nairobians need in a servant. We will run the city of Nairobi professionally,


“Njoroge is a guru in the cooperate world and his profile speaks for itself. His experience from the corporate world cannot go unrecognized and we need those skills to manage Nairobi county,” Sakaja told the Star Newspaper.

According to Sakaja, he was looking for a running mate who is good at teamwork and someone ready to solve problems facing Nairobi residents.
“I need a running mate who has communication skills, teamwork skills, and brings in problem-solving skills from the cooperate world,

“This blend I believe will be best in running Nairobi for the next five years,” Sakaja added.

Muchiri had contested in the recently concluded United Democratic Alliance (UDA) primaries for the Nyandarua governor’s seat but lost out to businessman Kiarie Badilisha.

With Kenya Kwanza having settled on the Sakaja’s number, their Nairobi County team is ready for a battle with the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition team.
Sakaja-Muchiri will battle it out with a Polycarp Igathe and Philip Kaloki team who will be flying the Azimio flag.

For the senatorial seat Margaret Wanjiru who stepped down I favour of Sakaja will be battling out with ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna who is the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya candidate.

In the Woman Representative seat, incumbent Esther Pasaris of ODM will square it out with Millicent Omanga of United Democratic Alliance.
