Deputy President William Ruto has criticized Jubilee’s move to replace perceived rebel MPs with abusive and ‘incompetent’ members from the opposition party, ODM.

Speaking in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County on Sunday, July 15, where he attended a church service, DP Ruto in particular singled out Homabay Woman rep Gladys Wanga and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, whom according to him did not deserve the positions awarded to them after his lieutenants were kicked out plum posts in parliament

“They ejected the bonafide members from the party. They ousted the members holding different positions in parliament. You can imagine Jane Kihara was ousted from a committee and replaced with the abusive Babu Owino,

“Nowadays, the abusive (mama wa matusi mingi) Gladys Wanga, Homa Bay county woman representative, is the chair to the finance committee in the House,” Ruto said.

The second in command further said the party incorporated outsiders hence has lost its grip of the National Assembly.

Ruto further said that the Jubilee party, the once most vibrant party across the country had fallen to irredeemable levels, a move that prompted some of its most valuable members to shift allegiance to the UDA party.

Several months ago, the infamous Jubilee purge saw DP Ruto’s key foot soldiers stripped off their lucrative positions in house committees for allegedly sabotaging President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

Other than Jane Kihara who was ousted from her parliament plum job for Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, other Jubilee party rebel MPs that were stripped of their positions include Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kiphumba Murkomen.

Others are Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki, and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika.

Political commentators opined that the dismissals were geared at clipping Ruto’s political wings ahead of the much-awaited 2022 General Election.
