UDA flag bearer William Ruto has warned city dwellers against politics being propagated by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The deputy president who led the first series of UDA rallies since he was endorsed for the country’s top seat in Nairobi on Wednesday, March 16, Ruto said the duo have never experienced first-hand poverty.

He said the two have no understanding of the basic needs of ordinary Kenyans who are struggling to make both ends meet.

Ruto said Uhuru and his handshake partner were just after amending the constitution to create jobs to help a few elites who have milked the country dry protect their ill-gotten wealth.

“Mimi nataka niwaambie, wale handshake brothers’ hawajawahi kutafuta kazi hata siku moja. Hawajawahi kulala njaa siku moja. Wale handshake brothers hawaelewei umaskini ni nini. Ndio maana tukisema tupangie kazi vijana hawaelewi, wanasema tubadilishe katiba kwanza,”

“I want to tell you, the handshake brothers have never looked for a job. They have never gone to bed without food. They don’t even understand what poverty is. That’s why when we say we should create jobs for the youths, they prioritize amendment of the Constitution,” William Ruto said.

The presidential hopeful continued with his onslaught at President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government challenging the Jubilee administration to move with speed and arrest the Kemsa scandal beneficiaries the same way they handled the forest road suspect.

“Wale walifanya kitendo ya kinyama hapa Forest Road kwa wamama ni sawa sawa na wale waliiba pesa ya Kemsa. Kaa Yule anayetafutwa hapa, pia wale wa Kemsa scandal nao wafungwe (Those who assaulted a woman here at Forest Road are like the people who stole Kemsa’s money. Just like the Forest Road suspects, they should be arrested as well,” Ruto said.
