Murang’a Woman Representative, Sabina Chege has revealed that Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s preferred Mt Kenya spokesperson.

Speaking during an interview on Inooro TV on Sunday, August 29, Sabina Chege said the Head of State has always preferred Kuria as his first choice despite him leaning towards his estranged deputy William Ruto’s political wing.

“Moses Kuria is still the President’s favorite spokesman and Uhuru chose him even though he sometimes rubs him the wrong way,” Sabina Chege said.

It is clear that the relationship between President Uhuru and Moses Kuria who is allied to Deputy President William Ruto has been questionable in recent times.

Highlighting the deteriorating nature of Kuria’s relationship with the President, Sabina said their frosty relationship begun after the President slammed Kuria for allegedly trying to undermine his (the president’ss) leadership.

According to her, the President castigated Moses Kuria in 2017 during a State House meeting, for his alleged attempt to undermine his leadership in the Mountain region after the Gatundu South Legislator held a meeting at Serena Hotel with other Mt Kenya leaders without Uhuru’s knowledge.

“The President was very furious at him (Moses Kuria) after he decided to hold a meeting at Serena with Mt. Kenya leaders to replace the President as the Mt Kenya leader,” she said.

Kuria’s relationship with President Uhuru further deepened after he fielded a candidate against the Jubilee party in a recent by-election in Juja where his party floored the Jubilee candidate.

A few weeks ago, Moses Kuria associated with Chama Cha Kazi met with Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua and The Service Party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri and announced plans to unite the vote-rich region ahead of the crucial 2022 General Election.
