Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka has admitted that he is expecting a baby with his three-month-old pregnant side chic days after she sued the former governor.

In June 2021, Lusaka’s secret lover Irene Naswa Mutaki, accused the former Bungoma Governor of neglecting her while demanding for KSh 25 million upkeep for the unborn child.

Lusaka’s lawyer Peter Wanyama on Wednesday, July 7, told the court that his client had agreed to cater for the child’s prenatal care suggesting that the seasoned politician is responsible for the unborn child.

“It’s not correct that my client cannot make prenatal expenses ….that has been sorted …And we are saying let’s wait for the baby to be born,” Lusaka told the court through his lawyer.

Irene Naswa through lawyer Danstan Omari sued Speaker Ken Lusaka seeking child support of KSh 200, 000 monthly or a lump sum pay of KSh 25 million for the unborn child.

The woman also wanted the speaker to buy her a house matching the standard of where other children (Lusaka’s) are staying among other issues.

However, Lusaka said that other issues would be settled once the baby is born.

“Who can buy a house within seven days? My client has advised me to tell the court that he is engaging the lady concerning other issues of birth maintenance,” Wanyama said.

According to an application filed by the woman in June 2022, her secret affair with Lusaka started in 2018.

They had unprotected intercourse in several instances and the lady broke the news of her pregnancy to the Speaker in May, 2021, the news that seemed not to settle well with Lusaka.

It was further reported that their relationship deteriorated further when the Speaker asked the lady to abort the baby.

“The cause of their disagreement was exacerbated by Lusaka’s insistence on terminating the pregnancy, a proposal that the applicant declined to accede to and now she is three months pregnant and counting since she discovered that she was expectant of Lusaka’s child as she has not been intimate with any other man other than the respondent, a fact that can be confirmed through a prenatal paternity test,” the lady said in suit papers.
