Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka is in the process of finalising his exit from the Jubilee party for the Ford Kenya party.

Ford Kenya party leader and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula On Wednesday, July 14, said he has met with Lusaka several times and has reached a deal to welcome him back to the party.

“We have had deliberations with the speaker and as a party, we have no problem giving him a chance to unseat Wangamati he said,” he said.

Wetang’ula who was speaking during a morning talk-show on Sulwe FM said the Ford Kenya party will not back the current Ford Kenya-allied Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati after he staged a failed coup in the party.

He said the Senate Speaker who currently admitted that he is the father to the unborn baby with his secret lover initiated many projects which have been abandoned by the current regime hence he should come back and liberate the western County.

“What Lusaka did during his five years of governance is there for everyone to see. We are bringing him back to continue developing the County,” Wetang’ula said.

He said Lusaka was once a party member before ditching the outfit for the ruling party hence he cannot decline his application to return to the fold.

Jubilee party has in the recent past lost valuable players to rival political parties including newly formed UDA and Raila’s ODM party.

Last week, renowned Mombasa tycoon Suleiman Shahbal announced that he had officially ditched the ruling Jubilee Party for Raila’s ODM.

“In exercise of my constitution and legal rights to belong to a political party of my choice and guided by the law through section 14 of the Political Parties Acts, 2011, I wish to resign as a member of Jubilee Party,” Shahbal said.
