Senior politician put on oxygen support after testing positive for COVID-19

A top Kenyan politician was rushed back to hospital yesterday morning, few days after being discharged having tested positive for COVID-19.

Kivumbi.co.ke gossip understands the elderly politician who had shown signs of improvement, developed breathing complications while at home.

The politician is said to have contracted the deadly virus while on a political tour popularisng he BBI bill, currently undergoing public participation.

Known for giving updates through his social media platforms ever since he tested positive, he has gone silent.

He is currently admitted at a top hospital in Nairobi, a matter confirmed by a close associate who proffered not to be named.

According to the health ministry corona tracker website, Kenya has confirmed 116,000 COVID-19 cases so far with 89,061 recoveries and 1,937 deaths as of March 18, 2021.

Kenya has a 1.7% fatality rate and a 79.1% recovery rate.

The World Health Organisation on January 2021 said a new variant of COVID-19, which was first reported in South Africa was spreading fast on the continent.

The development comes following the demise of Tanzania President John Pombe Magufuli who is said to have succumbed to heart problems but word has it he died of COVID-19 complications.
