Siaya Senator James Orengo has warned fellow ODM leaders who are contesting the 2022 presidential ticket alongside party boss Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Migori County on Friday, the senate minority leader said that Raila is healthy enough and ready to steer the country come 2022.

Orengo warned members of the ODM party who are forming minor political parties to divide the Luo nation, saying that they are all under one person; Raila Amolo Odinga.

Orengo said that those forming other parties are just cowards who chicken out when Raila is fighting for the presidency to be taken by the community.

“When we were battling the disputed 2017 presidential election result, some cowards left us alone. Those who are fighting Raila’s ascension to the presidency by forming other coalitions should tell Kenyans where they were when Raila was being sworn-in as the people’s president at Uhuru Park,” Orengo said during a burial in Nyatike Sub-county.

His statement comes at a time when Migori Governor Okoth Obado is eyeing the Luo kingship. After his fall out with the ODM party, he revamped his People Democratic Party(PDP).

Obado got the support of a section of Luo elders who are pulling towards declaring him as the Kingpin of South Nyanza region.

On Sunday, the Migori county boss met a section of legislators from the Amani National Congress(ANC) party led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.

In the meeting held at Obado’s Rapoogi MP, they discussed how he could join Musalia Mudavadi’s camp and his PDP party entering into an agreement with the One Kenya Alliance.
