The betting mogul, however, did not disclose which political party he will be using to seek the parliamentary seat.

“I will decide on the party later,” the 44-year-old Karauri told the Standard via text message.

He explained that constituents had been urging him to join politics and that he had heeded their call and was ready to battle it out with other politicians seeking the seat.

Karauri is expected to battle it out with Gakuya who was elected on a Jubilee party ticket as well as Kenyan rapper Jackson Makini popularly known as CMB Prezzo.

Karauri joins the long list of people who enjoy celebrity status who have tossed their hands into the murky waters of politics.

Two weeks ago, Churchill live Show comedian Jasper Muthomi, alias MC Jessy officially joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party heavily linked with Deputy President William Ruto.

The long-time Churchill live Show comedian confirmed that he will be vying for Imenti South parliamentary seat on a UDA party ticket in the August 9, General Election.

“It’s now clear where the vision is heading. After many days of consultative meetings with my South Imenti people, I have officially been invited to join UDA,” MC Jessy said.

Last year, celebrated media personality Felix Odiwor alias Jalang’o expressed his ambitions to contest for the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat in this year’s General Election.
