Starehe MP Charles Njagua joins William Ruto’s party

Starehe MP Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar has ditched President Uhuru’s Jubilee party for UDA, a party heavily linked with Deputy President William Ruto.

The artist-cum politician was on Monday, January 24, officially welcomed to the UDA by William Ruto at his offices in Karen.

News of his move to the Ruto-led party was announced on Twitter, Monday, by the United Democratic Alliance.

“Welcome to the Hustler Nation Charles Njagua AKA Jaguar, MP Starehe Constituency,” UDA said in a tweet.

Speaking moments after the announcement, the Kigeugeu hitmaker said that bottom-up economics is the ideal option for the Starehe residents.

“A time has come and decisions have to be made, the welfare of the people has to be considered. Starehe is a cosmopolitan constituency with many Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and the bottom-up ideology suits them best,

“Due to this, I feel that working with the Deputy President in his party as he runs for his presidential bid and as he works towards implementing his policies is the best option for my people of Starehe,’’ he said.

Jaguar who is a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from Mount Kenya University, contested for the Starehe MP seat on a Jubilee party in the 2017 General Election.

He will be seeking to defend his seat in the August 9, General Election on a UDA party ticket.

Jaguar’s move comes a few days after Churchill live Show comedian Jasper Muthomi, alias MC Jessy officially joined William Ruto’s party.

The long-time Churchil Live Show comedian on Wednesday, January 19, confirmed that he will be vying for Imenti South parliamentary seat on a UDA party ticket in the August 9, General Election.

“It’s now clear where the vision is heading. After many days of consultative meetings with my South Imenti people, I have officially been invited to join UDA,” MC Jessy said.
