Two women deliver bouncing baby boys at UDA rally

by Enock Ndayala

On Monday, June 20, Kisi gubernatorial candidate Ezekiel Machogu held a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) rally at his home.

Among those who attended the rally include Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, party coordinator Okengo Nyambane and South Mugirango Member of Parliament (MP) Sylvanus Osoro.

The rally which was held at the home of Nyaribari Masaba MP coincidentally turned into a labour ward as two middle-aged women gave birth to bouncing baby boys.

The two women whose identities still remain unknown had arrived at the rally without showing any signs of labour.

However, as soon as the rally started, the home venue was filled with joy and celebrations, an environment that is suspected to have triggered labour pains.

Before even the duo was taken to a nearby health facility, the women through the help of UDA supporters safely delivered the babies.

While drumming up for UDA presidential flag bearer William Ruto, Mochugu said that the delivery of the two women was a sign of victory in the August 9, General Election.

He said the two mothers will stay at his home through the day and promised to take care of the new creatures and provide the necessary support their mothers would need.

“This is a blessing to my family and I promise to give them the necessary support,” Machogu said as quoted by the Standard.

Mochugu will be facing off with Dagoreti North MP Simba Arati of the ODM party which is part of the constituent parties that form the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition.

Others seeking to succeed Kisii Governor James Ongwae who will be retiring in August include Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri of the newly launched DAP-Kenya party, Onchiri Ratemo of Usawa Party and Bishop Josiah Onyancha (Independent).
