A United Democratic Alliance (UDA) politician Jackline Mwenesi recently was forced to pay Ksh 42,000 in order to stop her naked photos from being leaked out.

According to a report by TUKO.co.ke Mwenesi who is an aspiring Vihiga County Women Representative filed a complaint at Nairobi West police station.

Mwenesi reported that a young man by the name of Tyson Wabuti sent her obscene photos on her WhatsApp and then demanded money from the politician in order not to distribute the images on social media.

It is reported that Mwenesi who is also a nominated MCA in Vihiga County Assembly out of fear sent Ksh 5,000 and later added another Ksh 37,000.

“For fear of being exposed, the complainant sent KSh 5,000 and later KSh 37,000 in cash,” John Kahia, a detective who sought the custodial order, told the court.

Among the evidence that the investigating officers presented before Senior Principal Magistrate Jane Kamau at Milimani Law Courts include texts messages from the suspects’ phones.

“I was just proving the allegation of sleeping with young boys in Vihiga county is true, then I have proven it. Just know that if, in any case, I have a bitter heart, then you will cry last,” one message from Wabuti read.

The police have been allowed to detain the suspect for three more days as they continue with their investigation.

The police had requested more time saying the suspect may assist them in tracing a second person involved in the case.

“A second person who was involved in the hacking of the complainant’s Twitter handle is in hiding,” the officer informed the court.

The suspect is being held at the Muthaiga police station in Nairobi, as investigations continue after which he will be charged with cyberbullying and misuse of computers
