UDA politicians blame Raila Odinga for Wanjigi’s troubles

by Amos Khaemba

Politicians allied to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party have condemned the arrest of businessman Jimmy Wanjigi.

Taking to social media, most of the UDA politicians have blamed the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga for Wanjigi’s predicament.

Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen, sympathised with Wanjigi whom he said supported both President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga yet they have teamed up to mistreat him.

“I really sympathize with Jimmy Wanjigi. In 2013 he supported Uhuru. He was then a good man. In 2017 he supported Raila Odinga and to Odinga, he was a hero and to Uhuru enemy No.1. Now when he deserves the combined support of Uhuru and Raila, they combine forces to harm him. ‘Siaya ya Utapeli’,” Murkomen wrote on his twitter handle.

On his Twitter handle, former Kakamega, Boni Khalwale said the betrayal of Jimmy Wanjigi by Raila is not a surprise adding that the ODM leader even betrayed his father.

“The betrayal of Jimmy by Raila does not come as a surprise to many Kenyans who recall how Raila shamelessly betrayed his own father Jaramogi Odinga in FORD party,” Khalwale wrote on Twitter.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah was more direct noting that Wanjigis’ troubles resulted from his comments about Raila ODM over the weekend.

“So, this is what Wanjigi from Murang’a gets from Tinga (Raila Odinga) for just speaking out at Kalonzo Musyoka Yatta meeting,” Ichung’wah wrote on Twitter.

On his part, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi alleged that the raid and arrest of Wanjigi was triggered by his comments at Kalonzo Musyoka’s home, where he described the ODM leader as a dictator.

Miguna Miguna wondered how Raila could betray Wanjigi when he is the man who footed the bill during the mock swearing-in of Raila Odinga at Uhuru Park.
