However, after more than one week of the search, the legislator who is a member of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) has been found alive.

On Tuesday, October 11, Uganda’s Daily Monitor reported that the legislator had returned to his Kampala home.

“I am here (in Kampala), you come to Parliament you will see me,” Wakikona said without divulging further details.

Kilimani OCPD Andrew Muturi further confirmed that the former State Minister of Trade and Antiquities was found by officers attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

“There was a missing person report filed at the police station and the DCI took over the investigations. He was found and has already returned to Uganda,” the OCPD stated.

The MP was in the company of other lawmakers of the Ugandan Parliament who had rented out the apartment during their trip to the country.

He had checked in at Samura Court along Argwings  Kodhek road on October 3 together with his colleagues Abdi Kisos, John Ngoya, Paul Busiro, and Opio Emmanuel, who is the Clerk of the Ugandan National Assembly.

However, reports indicate that the legislator silently asked a guard who was manning the gate to get him a cab to Tom Mboya Street as the destination.

It is further reported that Wakikona picked a taxi in Nairobi to run errands but switched off his phone and took a flight to Eldoret to see a sick relative before heading back to Uganda.
