Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has sensetionally claimed Uhuru Kenyata whispered to him Raila Odimga will be president in 2022

The outspoken legislator known for his unbridled love for Raila Odinga said this a day after the Madaraka Day celebration held in Kisumu.

The statement comes at a time the ODM leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta continue to display close ties two years after the famous handshake in February 2018.

Even though Babu Owino’s tweet sounded as a joke, Uhuru might truly be preparing Raila Odinga to take over from him. Photo: Babu Owino/Facebook.

“Thank you very much President Uhuru Kenyatta for overworking and delivering to Kenyans, watch and listen as Uhuru whispers to me that Baba will be President in 2022,” Babu Owino tweeted as he shared a video of the two launching projects in Kisumu.

Even though Babu Owino’s tweet sounded like a joke, Uhuru might truly be preparing Raila Odinga to take over from him.

During the Madaraka Day fete, the head of state told Kisumu residents that he is ready to walk along with Raila Odinga.

“I want to say here today that whatever the future holds, I look forward to working with him and all Kenyans to build a better, brighter, more united, and prosperous Kenya, East Africa, and Africa,” Uhuru said.

This statement by Uhuru gave a clue that he considers Raila as the favorable person to succeed him in 2022.

Before the grand tour in Kisumu, Uhuru legislators from the Nyanza region at State House, he assured them that his handshake with Raila is still strong and would last long.

“My brother (Hon Raila Odinga) and I are focused on leaving a legacy where young people have steady jobs, and are able to access basics needs and become a country where all citizens are proud to be Kenyans,” President Uhuru said.

Even though he hasn’t revealed his suitable successor, there are many indicators that he has a soft spot for Raila Odinga.
