Ukambani governors warned against lecturing Kalonzo over plans to work with Raila

Matungulu MP Steve Mule has warned Ukambani governors against lecturing Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka over his plans to work with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

This was after Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos) asked the former vice-president not to give any demand before joining the yet to be formed Azimio- One Kenya Alliance.

“As the governors of Ukambani, we started campaigning for Azimio and we do not have a problem with wiper joining us. Let them know that they have come late and they should sit on seats for the latecomers. Let them not come and start giving demands that they want the front seats yet we have been working all along. We do not want confusion,” Kibwana said.

But speaking at Kenyowi Catholic Church in Machakos County on Sunday, February 27, the Matungulu MP lauded the OKA principal for accepting to team up with the former Prime Minister for a record third consecutive time.

The legislator, a close ally of the Wiper leader said Kalonzo was decisive that the Azimio la Umoja will form the next government and asked Makueni Governor to stop giving his party leader conditions of joining forces with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handshake partner.

“And I want to tell Ukambani governors that they have no mandate to give Kalonzo Musyoka any condition because when they went to Azimio, they dint had the mandate of the community… They are nobody in the Kamba region,” he said.

While terming the yet to be formed Azimio- One Kenya Alliance as the mother of all grand coalition, Mule said the Wiper party will today Monday, February 28, kickstart serious negotiations adding that as Wiper, they are going to be very firm as they know exactly what kind of negotiations will be done.

He said their closed-door meeting will mainly anchor on the coalition logo and coalition colors after they join forces.
