Likuyani MP Enock Kibunguchy has called on COTU Secretary-General, Francis Atwoli to keep off politics and focus on serving workers in the country.

While addressing his constituents, the MP said that the Luhya Community is only guided by two people; Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Moses Wetangula (FORD-Kenya).

“Has he become a god to decide who becomes the leader? We only know of our two leaders and next year we will follow their directions. If someone wants to enter Luhya land, they should ask Musalia and Wetangula,” Said Enock Kibunguchy.

The MP also challenged workers in the country to vote in a younger person to lead the Central Organisation of Trade Unions instead of Atwoli who he described as old.

“I do not know what workers in this country are doing. They need to vote in a young man to represent them, not having one person rolling again and again.” He added.

The criticism comes after Atwoli was re-elected on April 9 to head the workers union for the fifth term.

He is said to have clinched the position unopposed after his opponent, the Secretary-General for Kenya National Union of Nurses, Seth Panyako was barred from the contest.
