Anne Waiguru’s deputy Peter Ndambiri has accused his boss of mistreating and sidelining him in county operations.
According to the Kirinyaga County deputy governor, he is facing humiliation just like Deputy President William Ruto under President Uhuru.
“As a deputy governor, I am going through the same, I think we have something in common,” he said while addressing a congregation, including William Ruto.
Speaking during a burial ceremony on Wednesday, September 29, Waiguru’s deputy said there is a need to re-engineer the constitution and review the roles of deputies.
Ndambiri questioned why William Ruto was being humiliated, yet he has been respectful to President Uhuru.
“I have never heard you talk anything against President Uhuru. God bless you so much. And we are supporting you because you have not uttered insults towards the president,” Waiguru’s deputy said.
Ndambiri endorsed William Ruto for the presidency, announcing his intention to contest for Kirinyaga Gubernatorial seat under the UDA ticket.
His announcement comes after Governor Anne Waiguru hinted at joining William Ruto’s camp.
Last week, Waiguru asked residents of Kirinyaga which political direction they would like her to take, and they suggested joining United Democratic Alliance(UDA).
““Which political party do you want me to seek re-election on? If they ask me why I chose that party, I will tell them that the people of Kirinyaga picked it for me,” Waiguru said during a public rally in Kirinyaga.
This means that Ndambiri might not only battle with Anne Waiguru on the election day but also in the UDA primaries.
The UDA nominations in Kirinyaga County pose as a tight race since the incumbent Woman Representative, Wangui Ngirici will also be in the race.
Ngirici, who is a close ally of DP Ruto has been having a strained relationship with Waiguru ever since announcing her intention to contest for governorship.
