Wavinya Ndeti deletes Facebook posts showing she cleared her degree in 10 months

by Amos Khaemba

On Thursday Thursday, June 16, Machakos gubernatorial candidate on the Wiper party ticket Wavinya Ndeti shared a letter from London South Bank University on Facebook to dispel accusations that her degree certificate was not valid.

But evidence shared by the former transport CAS has left more questions than answers regards to how she managed to acquire her degree within a short time frame.

Kenyans how Wavinya a close ally of the former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka would have managed to get a degree within a record 10 months.

The post did not last long as the Wavinya quickly deleted it after facing backlash from Kenyans on social media.

In the deleted post, Wavinya has blasted those questioning his academic papers saying they were only peddling baseless propaganda.

“We hope that this will adequately dispel the baseless propaganda being peddled by our clumsy competitors and silence naysayers,” Wavinya said in a Facebook post that she has already deleted.

According to the letter shared earlier by Wavinya, she pursued a computer science degree from September 1994 to July 1995, a record period of only 10 months.

“This is to confirm that the above-named person (Wavinya Oduwole) was a full-time student at South Bank (now London South Bank University) from September 1994 to July 1995 studying on the BSc (Hons) Computing Studies Course,” reads London South Bank University letter dated October 15, 2018.

“Wavinya Oduwole completed the course and was awarded a Lower Second Class Honours(2.2) on July 18, 1995.” the letter stated.

According to Commission of University Education guidelines, a degree course normally takes at least four years, save for engineering and medical courses which take five and six years respectively.

Wavinya who is in the race to succeed Governor Alfred Mutua is facing a petition before the IEBC Dispute Resolution Committee where the petitioner alleges that she never attended University education.

But Wavinya has continued to defend herself saying she has six-degree certificates that we’re genuinely acquired.

“I have six degrees, the seventh was my deceased husband. Those peddling propaganda that they are fake me to waste my time in court. I have no time to waste,” Ndeti said in a rally in Machakos on Thursday, June 16.
