by Enock Ndayala

Kenya Kwanza co-principals Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula appeared to prove their critics wrong after holding a massive rally in Vihiga county.

Khwisero, the home of Central Organization of Trade Unions boss Francis Atwoli, is considered to be 2022 presidential election front runner Raila Odinga’s turf having voted for him in the last four General Elections.

Addressing the residents, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala assured Mudavadi and Wetang’ula that Kenya kwanza will win all elective seats and deliver the presidency to Deputy President William Ruto.

While assuring his party leader of the 70 percent Kenya Kwanza support from the western region, Malala said they are not interested in the 30 percent national government share.

He urged Mudavadi and Wetang’ula to instead push for the revival of companies in the Western region which he said will create thousands of employment opportunities for the hustlers.

“Nimeongea na hawa waluhya na wamekubali kwamba watafanya kazi na watafuata mambo yako na Wetang’ula . Lakini wamesema kwamba Kenya Kwanza ikiunda serikali hawana haja na mamlaka. Wanataka muwafufulie kampuni ya Mumias Sugar ianze kufanya kazi,” Malala said.

“I have spoken to these Luhyas and they have agreed that they will work and follow your affairs with Wetang’ula. But they have said that if Kenya Kwanza forms the next government, they want you to revive Mumias Sugar Company.”

This comes at a time the duo is working day and night to ensure they deliver at least 70 percent of the total votes cast in Kenya’s second-largest voting bloc for them to enjoy a 30 percent of the National Government should Kenya Kwanza form the next government.

But Mudavadi who spoke on Monday, May, 23, during the Kenya Kwanza alliance economic forum promised to ensure 90 percent of Luhya voters cast their votes in favor of the Kenya Kwanza alliance party presidential flag bearer William Ruto.

“Mimi na Wetangula tuko hapa, Ingo imeshona. 70 percent ni Kidogo, tutaleta 90 percent,” Mudavadi said.
