William Ruto’s ally Kithure Kindiki has warned President Uhuru Kenyatta against imposing Raila Odinga on the Mt Kenya voters.

Speaking during William Ruto’s tour of the Meru region on Wednesday, November 17, Kithure asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to retire in peace.

The Tharaka Nithi Senator said his people will respect Uhuru, but not if he is imposing Raila on Mt Kenya people.

“If you see us respecting you, do not think we have no brains, we will respect you until your last day. But what we do not want is imposing Raila Odinga to be the president, we have refused,” he said.

Kithure Kindiki, who was ousted from the deputy speaker position in 2020 recalled how President Uhuru Kenyatta humiliated him.

“We forgave you for the injustice that you caused to us, the embarrassment you did to me, by bringing Mutula Kilonzo, Moses Wetangula, and James Orengo to teach me how to respect jubilee (party)… because I respect you…go to retirement slowly,” Kithure Kindiki added amid cheers from the crowd.

Kithure Kindiki was among DP William Ruto’s allies who were ousted from parliamentary positions in 2020 on grounds of gross misconduct.

His warning on imposing Raila Odinga to Mt Kenya voters follows a similar one from Deputy President William Ruto.

During his tour of the region on November 15, William Ruto warned the resident Governor Kiraitu Murungi against imposing Raila Odinga on the people.

“We, 8 million people, have we lacked someone to lead us? We don’t have brains?…why are they are bringing that man of parables (Raila Odinga) to lead us? That is disrespectful,

“We have formed the government twice,  developed the country, all over a sudden someone (Kiraitu Murungi) is bring us, someone else to lead us,” William Ruto said in Meru.
