William Ruto badly humiliated at the Madaraka Day celebration

President William Ruto has for the first time censured retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s love for reggae music.

The bad blood between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his principal assistant William Ruto was at play during the 59th Madaraka day celebration.

Since their fallout, President Uhuru and his deputy have been reading from different political scripts ahead of the August polls.

The Kenya Kwanza alliance presidential flag bearer has been missing in key functions presided over by his boss.

On Wednesday, June 1, President Uhuru Kenyatta skipped his Deputy William Ruto as he recognized the dignitaries present.

After recognizing the visiting Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, the president proceeded to recognize the Speakers of Senate and National Assembly to the Chief Justice.

“Before I talk, I want to invite Sierra Leon president to make his remarks,” Uhuru said after recognitions.

Away from the tradition, President Uhuru Kenyatta went straight to his speech after a short address by Sierra Leone President.

Ordinarily, protocol dictates that it is the Deputy President William who would have spoken first and in turn welcome the President to address the nation.

By the time of publishing this article, the Head of State was still making his address, it is still not clear if he will invite his deputy to address Kenyans.

In the morning, the Kenya Kwanza presidential flag bearer was conspicuously missing at a State House event where Cabinet Secretaries surprisingly went to bid farewell to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Sports CS Amina Mohamed, her Foreign Affairs counterpart Rachel Omamo, and Fred Matiang’i (Interior) were among those who went to say goodbye to their boss who is expected to retire In about 70 days to come.

But DP Ruto’s spokesman Emmanuel Talam told the Daily Nation that the 2022 presidential front runner William Ruto was not invited to the State House.

“He wasn’t invited to the State House event,” Talam said.
