“Now the want to unite Jubilee and ODM, they think that when they unite Jubilee and ODM, we Hustlers will lack a party to propel us.

Deputy President William Ruto has laughed off the plans to form a coalition between Jubilee and ODM parties, terming it an attempt to a collapse a national party into a tribal outfit..

Speaking in West Pokot on Saturday, Ruto said that the coalition is meant to kick out Hustlers from Jubilee Party, but they are woke.

“They have broken Jubilee, the national party. Now they want to tell us to start parties based on our tribes. We want to tell them, hustler nation can not fit in a party of one tribe. We will have a national party where all Kenyans can fit,

“Now they want to unite Jubilee and ODM, they think that when they unite Jubilee and ODM, we hustlers will lack a party to propel us. We want to tell them that we are keen. We have a party for hustlers, it is called UDA (United Democratic Alliance,” Ruto said.

His proclamation came after a meeting between ODM and Jubilee leaders, planning a coalition between the two parties.

The coalition talks, headed by Jubilee’s David Murathe & Raphael Tuju and ODM’s Junet Mohammed and Edwin Sifuna, aim at cementing the March 2018 handshake between President Uhuru and Raila Odinga.

The joint Party leaders held a meeting at a Kiambu hotel on June 17.

According to the ODM and Jubilee officials at the Centre of coalition plans, their union will result to an agreement on the right candidate to carry the 2022 presidential ticket.

“The meeting we have had today is a culmination of several other meetings that we have held before to formalise the coalition with the former Prime Minister,” Raphael Tuju affirmed.

Even though many leaders from DP Ruto’s Tanga Tanga camp have laughed off the coalition talks, President Uhuru’s allies have welcomed the move to resuscitate their party.
