Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto has said he is ready to work with One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principal Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the 2022 General Election.

Speaking on Sunday, November 7, at a fund-raiser at AIPCA St Joseph Church in Kikopey, Nakuru County, the deputy president urged other presidential hopefuls with the same ideologies as his to join him in forming the next government.

“We are open and welcome all leaders who are ready to join us on lifting this country under our bottom-up economic model,

“We are prepared for those who want to work with us,” William Ruto said.

The call by the deputy president appeared to target OKA principal Kalonzo Musyoka, who recently stated that he was available for talks with William Ruto.

“If you hear them looking for me, tell them I am available because Kenyans must consult. If they want to reach out to me, they are most welcome,” said Kalonzo in response to a question on the possibility of him working with William Ruto.

Ruto’s remarks were welcomed by his allies who said the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party that William Ruto said will use to seek the presidency has enough room to accommodate all Kenyans.

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro assured the former Vice President that he will be the Speaker of the National Assembly should he join the Tanga Tanga political wing synonymous with William Ruto.

“Kalonzo is a senior state counsel and we respect him. Looking at his background and politics, he is also a hustler. We believe he can make a good Speaker of the National Assembly in the government we want to form,” he said.

While welcoming Kalonzo to UDA, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, a close ally of the deputy president said the Wiper leader should join the winning team instead of sitting and waiting for endorsement by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Presidential aspirants waiting for endorsement by Statehouse should join us now in engaging the electorate, who have the final say,” Kihika said.
