William Ruto loses temper at man who interrupted his meeting

by Enock Ndayala

Deputy President William Ruto’s anger management has come under sharp focus in the recent past with his opponents taking maximum advantage of his public display of anger.

Defense CS Eugene Wamalwa recently revealed that the 2022 presidential front runner William Ruto almost slapped him in 2018 after the CS led a delegation of Western Kenya leaders to State House without the DP’s knowledge.

Less than a day after that, Ruto angrily rubbished Wamalwa’s claims and even likened him to a woman, considered an insult among many Kenyan communities.

The deputy president will no doubt yet again find himself in a tight spot after a video emerged of him angrily telling off a heckler at his rally.

In the video seen by Kivumbi.co.ke, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate William Ruto tells the man to leave his meeting if the intention is to disrupt his address to supporters in Vihiga, western Kenya.

“Wewe kijana wacha kunijibu… Unanijibu kama nani? Kama umeleta kisirani kwa hii mkutano utoke (Young man stop talking back at me, who are you to talk back at me like that. If you came to disrupt this meeting, leave,” a visibly angry Ruto said.

This comes at a time several Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party politicians have been saying Ruto has dangerous anger and is thus unfit to succeed retiring president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Raila-allied bloggers took up the video, seconds after it started doing the rounds on social media.

Raila Odinga’s 2022 presidential running mate Martha Karua recently said the deputy president needs time to mature politically because of his anger.

“It is dangerous to vote for someone who is angry. Let’s give him space to calm down and maybe we will consider supporting him for the presidency later. The country currently needs someone who is mature politically and that is Raila Amollo Odinga,” Karua said.

ODM Secretary-General, who is also a Nairobi Senatorial aspirant, Edwin Sifuna said he will have to leave Kenya should Ruto become president after the August 9 General Election due to his anger.
