William Ruto shares video of Barack Obama praising bottom-up economic model

Kenya kwanza presidential flag bearer William Ruto’s entire campaign has this far been based on the bottom-up economic model.

The former Eldoret North MP promises to implement an economic model focused on empowering the ordinary citizen thus accelerating their economic empowerment.

The bottom-up economic model has however been dismissed by the majority of Ruto’s critics who term it a ploy by the deputy president to rob the poor

On Tuesday, May 31 however, Ruto gladly shared a video of former Unites States of America president Barrack Obama praising the bottom-up economic model in an attempt prove the model will work in Kenya.

In the video, Obama heaps praise on the model, saying it is about giving everyone a chance to succeed economically in life.

“This is not about a few people doing well. We want everybody to do well. It is about giving everybody a chance to do well,” Obama said.

The 2022 presidential election front runner William Ruto who is banking on the bottom-up economic model to win the presidency shared the short clip using it as a marketing tool to popularize his Kenya kwanza agenda.

In his quest to become the next president of Kenya after the August 9, General Election, the former Agriculture Minister recruited top brains who worked with the late President Mwai Kibaki to plan and run the economy.

Ruto, who aims to emulate Kibaki’s leadership style which is regarded as Kenya’s best economic run ever, tasked ex-Kibaki economists to draft the “Hustler Economic strategy” ostensibly to cure the ruins left by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The strategy is expected to go hand in hand with William Ruto’s bottom-up economic model which targets to work with small businesses, including farmer’s groups, artists, boda boda riders, and vegetable vendors.
