Local politics revolving around United Democratic Alliance party and Chama Cha Mashinani took the center stage of the Deputy President William Ruto rally in Bomet county.
Supporters for Chama Cha Mashinani leader Isaac Ruto, were hostile and they heckled and humiliated any speaker that advocating for UDA politics.
Governor Barchok and petroleum Chief Administrative secretary Mosonik were forced to cut short his speech when the crowd heckled him down for saying that ally was a UDA function.
At one point the Deputy President was forced to take charge as the master of ceremony of the ally when the rivalry got out of control as the crowed become too hostile.
While speaking, Ruto stayed clear of the local politics, deviating from his script of advocating for a six-piece voting for UDA.
“As a party we believe in the unity of the nation, we do not believe in ethic or regional or village politics. We believe in unity of Kenya and I want to say from Bomet here that we don’t subscribe to any divisive talk, we don’t agree any talk that profile people or community because we are a party national party that bring all communities together,” Said Ruto.
The Deputy President William Ruto campaigned for the UDA party but gave no indication of how he intends to work with friendly parties such as Chama Cha Mashinani.
The events at Bomet Green Stadium will force the Deputy President back to the drawing board as he has consistently called upon small parties to fold and join UDA a move that Isaac Rutto has refused to entertain.
Garisa MP Aden Duale also met a hostile reception from supporters of the former Bomet governor over the famous remarks ‘Hi pesa sio ya mama yako’ that Duale made in 2014.
