William Ruto’s ally Mithika Linturi is on the spot for entering a couple’s hotel room while the husband was away and attempting to rape the wife.
The Meru Senator was also a guest in the resort that the couple was staying in and had a room adjacent to theirs.
According to a police statement, the woman reported that she was with a husband and friends at Maiyan Villas Resort Nanyuki on January 29 2021.
The woman said that she went into the room to sleep, but did not lock the door since her husband was still outside.
At around 3.00 AM a man walked into the room, entered the bed, and started touching her in an unusual manner, without saying a word.
The statement explains that 30 minutes later, there was a knock on the door and when the woman went to open, it was her husband.
She was confused about who was at the bed and switched on the lights.
Her husband then raised an alarm, prompting their friends to come and investigate.
One of their friends identified the man as Meru Senator Mithika Linturi.
The woman reported that William Ruto’s ally offered to pay them KSh 1 Million to sort the issue amicably, but later on reported them for extortion.
However, in his application Senator Linturi wants the court to bar the state from charging and arresting him for the attempted rape and indecent act with an adult.
The Meru Senator is also facing a forgery case where he is accused of using forged signatures to secure a KSh530 million bank loan with properties of his estranged wife as collateral.
Marianne Kitany, the estranged wife of Meru Senator, accused Linturi of forging signatures to secure the multimillion-shilling loan from Family Bank.
