William Ruto’s firstborn son holds a colorful traditional wedding

Deputy President William Ruto’s firstborn son Nick Ruto, on Saturday, January 15, held a colorful traditional pre-wedding ceremony commonly known as Koito.

Kaito is a Kalenjin wedding ritual that is characterized by the negotiation of a bride’s dowry.

Nick, a lawyer by profession, is set to marry his long-term girlfriend Evelyn Chemtai.

Deputy President’s daughter-in-law to be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Baron from Laikipia county.

The Deputy President William Ruto, Rachel Ruto, and their children, who attended the ceremony, had matching outfits, with the DP wearing a purple print paired with black trousers The seemingly happy Rachel Ruto had a puffed-sleeved purple kitenge with a matching fascinator.

Confirming the event, Nick took to Twitter to give thanks to the two families and those who graced the occasion.

The invite-only ceremony was held at Windy Ridge in Karen was attended by family members and close friends of the DP.

Among high profile individuals who attended the event include, Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Governors Jackson Mandago, Stephen Sang, and Josphat Nanok.

Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Aaron Cheruiyot, MPs Alice Wahome, Caleb Kositany, Gladys Boss Shollei among others attended the event.

The ceremony comes less than a year after Ruto’s daughter June Ruto got married to her Nigerian fiancé Alexander Ezenangu in a colorful event attended by high profile personalities.

Musalia Mudavadi, the ANC party leader was among the political heavyweights that graced Ruto’s daughter’s wedding.

DP Ruto and Mama Rachel Ruto are blessed with children, Nick, June, Charlene, Stephanie, and George. DP has another daughter called Abby Ruto.
