William Ruto’s party dismiss reports of power-sharing deal with Musalia, Wetang’ula

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party Deputy President William Ruto has come out to dismiss reports of a power-sharing deal with, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetang’ula.

In a press statement seen by Kivumbi.co.ke, UDA Secretary-General Veronica Maina termed the report by The Standard Newspaper of January 29, titled ” Revealed: How UDA allies plan to share power” as speculative.

“These media reports are speculative and based on journalistic assumptions. The details of the cooperation between UDA, ANC, Ford Kenya, and any other Political party if all ,will be formally unveiled by the principals at an appropriate time,” Maina said.

The UDA secretary general called upon members of the public and supporters of Kenya Kwanza affiliate parties to ignore the misinformation circulating on mainstream media and social media platforms.

She hit out at UDA political rivals, saying they are the ones planting such fake news on media to achieve hidden political agendas.

“Our cooperation has and continues to create earthquake tremors across the political scene of our country and our competitors are sponsoring such fake or speculative headlines in order to achieve a certain narrative. We remind our competitors that ‘Hatupangwingwi’ na ‘Tusidanganyane’,” Maina added.

The Saturday Standard had written a detailed piece on how Deputy President William Ruto, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetang’ula of Ford Kenya intend to share power if they win the August 9 presidential election.

According to the report, DP Ruto would be the Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate, plus choosing his running mate.

In the hghehNairobi seats, UDA will nominate the deputy governor, and field the senator and women representative slots.

The report indicated that ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi will bag the chief minister position, plus the finance ministry and the devolution docket.

ANC party will at the same time be allowed to field the governors for Kakamega, Vihiga, and Nairobi counties.

On his part, Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya party will get a free pass for the Bungoma senatorial seat, field gubernatorial candidates in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia County.

The Ford Kenya party was set also to get a cabinet slot on top of other governments same as the ANC party.
